Additionaly, fundraising for any gaming technology business venture can be a daunting task. It is always hard to ask for money from others, especially when then nature of the request is highly speculative. Ankrapp Therriault, a highly successful gaming technology capital management consultant, believes that planning is the key to selling your idea: “If you walk up to someone and say, ‘I’ve got a great gaming technology business idea, would you contribute $100K’, they’ll probably laugh and consider you a lunatic…but, if you approach someone and say ‘Look, I have this great idea, and my plan is the following…’, it will reassure an anxious investor that things will move forward with thought and purpose.” “In the case of our gaming technology marketing venture, we initially started out with a simple website, and then slowly grew as sales increased,” replies Yadira Bernas, the COO of the Stiteler Riecke Co-Op, “Then, the website expanded into a data warehouse - essentially a store of all things related to our marketing campaigns - which allowed us to study and refine subsequent efforts.” “Starting up any gaming technology business is difficult. In our case, it took about 6 months of planning, a year of fund raising, and then another 6 months of building infrastructure before we made our first sale,” states Macy Sorrell of the Ericson Artiaga Partners and Ltd. Company. Secondly, once the business side of a prospective gaming technology venture is planned, map out the human element. One way of doing this effectively is getting an external HR consultant, one that is not tied directly to management or lower level employees. This allows for impartial scrutiny of your gaming technology business model and ensures that the right people are doing the right jobs. Once investment is secured for a gaming technology venture, and proper planning has been realized, start networking within your industry. “I find that attending industry related social functions, conferences, and even my neighbors’ cocktail parties help me find new ways of growing my company,” claims Duron Badillo, director of the Goddard Bassuk Brothers firm, “By asking the right people the right questions, you’ll find that you can learn new things and different strategies for your gaming technology firm that you may not have thought of before.” And as always, when setting up a business, the following applies: ‘There’s no right way or wrong way, just the profitable way’. Once you’ve found out how to get your gaming technology firm off the ground and it is generating ROI, you’ve won half the battle and are on your way to continued success. Reeher Trivett, Human Services director of the Myint Kreps and Partners gaming technology firm, states that the working dynamic and human capital of your company should not be ignored. Sahm Ridderhoff agrees: “I’ve seen companies with nearly everything - perfect budget, great IT, good distribution - but a terrible working dynamic between the employees. Though the gaming technology product makes it to store shelves, the people working within the company feel miserable, unappreciated, and unmotivated.” One often over looked area in online gaming technology businesses is infrastructure. Many focus heavily on budget, growth, and employment indicators, but fail to acknowledge tell tail warning signs generated by insufficient hardware and networking software. For any gaming technology business, this can spell disaster. Without a doubt, planning for the launch of your gaming technology firm is crucial. Think of it as the launch sequence of a space shuttle. Every last detail, figure, and step is checked and double checked. This is the only way to succeed in the gaming technology industry and get the competitive edge.

Ruthann Markham, a well known gaming technology marketer and former CEO of the Anastacia Horaney INC firm, had a great panel discussion on the legalities of gaming technology trade abroad. Anastacia Horaney spoke briefly on current events, and then opened up the floor for Q & A from the audience. The local news media also took to the streets to get general public’s view about today’s events. Most reactions about the gaming technology conference were positive, but a few people were not happy with the comotion created by evening party goers. “I like the idea of having a gaming technology conference in our town, but can’t sleep at night with all them creating a rucus,” said Delilah Lench, who lives adjacent to the main facilities. “It wasn’t so bad last year, but last night I didn’t get to bed until 3 AM with all the shananigans going on!” Some area gaming technology commercial advertising firms also benefitted from conference attendance. One business owner stated that “I’ve got double the usual number of orders since the conferenced started… This means our company will probably have a surplus at the end of the year, and will allow us to continue strong into the next quarter!” “Wow!!!”, said Drennon Littleton, a first time conference goer, “I’m so thankful that many gaming technology industry heavyweights took time out to come and talk to us. I’ve learned a lot of new things, found out industry news, and was able to network successfully with others who have jobs similar to mine.” Mayor Mugrage Zweifel, who spearheaded the original gaming technology committee that brought the conference to town, spoke joyfully about the boom for local business: “Restaraunts, Night Clubs, and the mall have all benefitted greatly. Local retail sales are up nearly %50, and restaurants have nearly all sold out for the next week and a half!” Gaming technology conference goers, fans, and a few dignitaries from other countries all enjoyed the keynote speech by Vaugh Brewer, director of the Lawther Linebaugh INC company. The speech brought the crowd to its feet, with an ovation that lasted for nearly 6 minutes. The following speaker, Thora Mieth, a long time conference support, echoed much of what was said during the key-note, along with a few other important ideas. Some new gaming technology product lines were also announced today, including the much anticipated release from Krishna Riding.com, a new leader in the industry. Most of the product announcements came during the “Hot Products” session, although a few companies chose instead to present their new items in the commercial area. Corporate attendees were advised to bring at least 1000 gaming technology products with them to resell, and despite this quota, many companies sold out on the very first day! A small celebrity presence at this year’s gaming technology conference excited many attendees. Actors Essery Lacio and Zumba Schuetze both came during the afternoon session, mostly out of personal curiosity. “I love this stuff,” said Zumba Schuetze, “and eventually, I want to start my own gaming technology business that will parallel my work in Hollywood.”
